After fire extensively damaged the building in 1887, it was rebuilt a little further along the street where today it proudly stands with its Art Deco facade on the corner of Wallace and Splatt Street.

Over the years it has undergone many renovations, with the latest extensive renovation, upgrade and re-opening in 2014.
